2016 - a year of political insanity...

Dear 2016...can America claim temporary insanity...???

We have a long term politician, who is both a known liar and federal criminal...a cheater who "won" the DNC nomination...a defender of rapists, a victim-blamer, racist...so heavily "pro-choice" that hours before a baby is born, it has no rights - I'm sorry...I cannot understand that ideology.

annnd then we have a schmuck, with no political experience...a known hot-head, a pig-headed womanizer, a cheapskate...a bad citizen - doesn't pay a dime in taxes...alleged rapist, aggressive bigot, and adulterer.

Some how...those two people...these two wealthy, educated, "low-lives" have somehow bubbled to the surface of American politics and are the two main nominees for the American presidency.

And I don't know how we got to this point...
                                        and I'm pleading with you...
don't vote for either of them.

People are worried that Hillary is too liberal...I agree.

People are worried that Trump is politically inept....I agree.

Neither one of them deserve a vote, in my opinion...I'm not being critical of Hillary because she's a woman...I'm not being critical of Trump because he's a jerk...they simply aren't qualified.  They aren't trustworthy.  A good chunk of America would agree with that statement.  I'm not the only one who thinks this...many a political commentator, religious leader, and political leader agrees...neither of them deserve a vote.

So why are you voting for them?!  SO many people say a vote for one is a vote against the other...or that voting 3rd party is a waste of a vote, and therefore, voting for the alternative.

I'm sorry people, no.  No, no, NO!  A vote for someone is a vote for someone.  Period.  It isn't about voting for who will win, or who has a shot, or keeping the alternative out of office...we have a crap-covered pig and a cotton-mouth snake for our candidates...there isn't a "lesser evil"...it's what issue you choose to vote about.  Trump said he "might" put in a list of conservative Supreme Court Justices, so that is why people are voting for him....that's a lot of faith in the word "might" from a man who is known for not keeping his word.  PLUS, the end goal with pro-life justices is ending abortion, and honestly...that's not even remotely going to happen.  I'd like conservatives in those seats as much as anyone...but I'm not willing to cast my precious vote on a "might" from a man who rarely keeps his word...  I appreciated this article about the problem with voting on this one issue - Supreme Court.  The pro-life v. pro-choice argument is a moot point.  Trump is totally a fan of killing women and children in the name of defeating terrorism...that's not pro-life.  Trump has never been pro-life before being a republican, and I have a hard time believing he is genuinely pro-life now.  And again, abortion will not be overturned, and he seems to have very little regard for life after the womb, so that isn't "pro-life"...

Now, I'm not ok with a hyper-liberal liar being president either...which brings me back to my original plea:

Don't vote for either of them.

It is time for Americans to rise up...it is time for us to put good people in office.  Or at least BETTER people.
Neither DESERVE our votes...our votes are precious.  We shouldn't degrade ourselves to "have" to vote for one of them, because Dr. Dobson or Dr. Carson endorsed him...or Sanders or whatever liberal face endorsed her.  We know they aren't ideal...so why are we putting up with less than mediocre?!

I keep seeing "well, one of them will win"...ok.  Or "a 3rd party doesn't have a shot"...

Since when do those things matter?!  When Obama first ran, it was pretty obvious that McCain wasn't going to win...and yet millions upon millions of Republicans went out and voted for him...knowing he probably wouldn't win.

Have wars been fought when the odds were bad?  Have you only ever applied for a job you KNEW you would get?  Played a board game only if you knew you would win?  No...you don't.  This isn't a way to live, so why are you insisting by voting with this crazy thought process!  Voting for one party or the other, simply to vote "against" the other, is an awful philosophical position to hold.  Don't lower yourself to that.  Voting for a "lesser" evil, is still voting for evil.

Now is the time to cast a vote FOR someone.  Vote for someone you believe in.  You'll sleep better at night!  There are many other options...MANY!  You are not throwing your vote away...in fact, I would argue that voting for an awful person, because they have a better chance of winning, and jumping off the cliff with the other lemmings...that IS throwing your vote away..."join the sheep, vote with two major party system just because!"

You say a third party can't win...did you know 55-60% want a third party?!  If the 45% that like the D-R system vote D or R...let's say, 25% vote for D and 20% vote for R...and 26% vote 3rd party?!  That's it ya'll...that's all we need for an upheaval of the system.

So, your options...look them up...Evan McMullin, Darrell Castle, Gary Johnson, Jill Stein, Chris Keniston...and there's more than that...you just need to look it up!  Our country deserves the time you NEED to spend researching alternative candidates...because this country is worth it...And these two clowns will ruin our country, in very different ways.

There's never been a more important time to research and REALLY vote for someone.  I think MOST of the 3rd party candidates are literally better options in so many other ways.  They have served in the military, they are smart, educated, worked in government and have GOOD records of doing so...

I cannot sit by and vote for one of these two wack jobs, because I'm told I need to...to prevent one or the other getting in.  I feel like I'm repeating myself...but perhaps it is because of my frustration...I see social media and I do NOT watch mainstream TV...and I cannot understand why people stand so firmly behind either of them...and then with the mud-slinging....If you, as a Christian, can stand by, hold your nose, and vote for D or R...go for it.  Support them for all I care!  It isn't going to hurt my conscience.  But if you don't agree with them, do not vote for them.  Christ has called us to do the right thing...David cut Saul's robe, and didn't kill him, because he knew the Lord would take care of the situation...and David did the right thing.  I need to do the right thing, in my heart, before the Lord...and voting for either of them repulses me, in my soul...

So, I'm sorry, 2016...I'm sorry this happened this way...

P.s.
A great article from the Gospel Coalition on this very topic - "“So I vote twice by doing nothing? I didn’t realize inaction was so powerful!”"
